We do not accept cheques.
Pay your Council Tax by BACS transfer
Here's the information you'll need to pay by BACS:
- your Council Tax account number - this is 9 digits and starts with a 6, find it at the top right of your bill
- bank sort code: 20 71 29
- bank: Barclays, Reading
- account name: Oxford City Council
- account number: 30750662

Pay your Council Tax by card over the telephone
You can use our automated phone service to pay your Council Tax (23 hours a day, 1am to midnight). Ring customer services and select option 1
You'll need your 9-digit Council Tax Account Number ready this starts with 6 and you'll find it at the top right of your bill.
Pay your Council Tax at the Post Office or a Paypoint Outlet
Payments can be made at any Post Office or Paypoint outlet in the UK.
To make a payment you'll need the barcode from your current Council Tax bill. Do not use anyone else's bill to make a payment. If you can't find your Council Tax bill, get in touch and we'll send a copy.
We no longer issue Payment Cards but existing ones can still be used (except for bank payments).
