Temporary disruption: Council Tax, Business Rates and Benefits services

  • System affected: Council Tax, Business Rates and Benefits system (Civica OPEN Portal)
  • Date: From Tuesday 24 February 2026 to 9 March 2026 - the system will be available again from 10 March 2026
  • Description: System downtime due to essential maintenance
  • What to expect: During this time, you will be unable to access our Civica OPEN Portal system for Council Tax, Business Rates and Benefits services

Impact

  • Civica OPEN Portal system for Council Tax, Business Rates and Benefits services will be unavailable
  • the system will also be unavailable to staff so expect delays in processing applications and changes
  • customers should wait until after the maintenance period (10 March) to access these services online once everything is functioning as normal

Services affected

The following online services will be unavailable during the downtime:

  • viewing your Council Tax account and your Council Tax bill
  • applying for or cancelling your Single Person Discount for Council Tax
  • telling the Council Tax about a change in adults in your property
  • telling the Council Tax team when you move house    
  • viewing your Business Rates account and Business Rates bill
  • setting up a Direct Debit online to pay Council Tax or Business Rates
  • viewing your benefits account
  • viewing your landlord account holding tenant benefits information
  • applying for Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction
  • telling us about a change affecting your Housing Benefit or Council Tax Reduction claim
