In Person
We are creating a new space within the library that will offer better privacy and more confidentiality. There will be disruption to services provided by the City Council and Citizens Advice while the building work is undertaken, and we would ask that you only consider visiting if you have an urgent enquiry that cannot be dealt with over the telephone. During this time residents can contact the City Council through the City Council's website or by phoning the Contact Centre on 01865 249811. Business as usual will resume from Monday 31 July 2023.
From 31 January 2022 the City Council will be offering residents face to face meetings from the Oxfordshire County Library, Queen Street, Westgate, Oxford, OX1 1DJ.
Opening Hours
We will be open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10am to 3pm, only. We advise customers to book an appointment by phoning 01865 249811.
We want to encourage customers to use online services where they can, through the Council's website, where they can talk to officers through the webchat service. Video calls from home are also available by phoning the Customer Contact Centre on 01865 249811.
In writing
If you need to contact us in writing, please ensure you clearly state the department you are contacting. If you are replying to correspondence received from a council employee, please state their name and department. This will ensure your correspondence is managed in a timely manner.
If you want to hand deliver correspondence to us, please note that our post box has now moved to the Town Hall. The mail is collected daily and will be processed the following working day.
- We rarely require original documents to be posted to us. Unless specified by us, please ensure that that you only ever send copies of original documents
- On the rare occasion that we do need original documents posted to us please ensure that return addresses are attached to your documents
- We cannot be held responsible for loss or damage of original documents.
