Changes to the way elections are run - Elections Act 2022
Parliament has passed the Elections Act 2022 which introduces various changes to voting and registration for elections. These include the way voting takes place in the polling station (known as Voter ID) and other changes around postal voting, overseas electors and the franchise for EU citizens.
Future Elections in Oxford - (no programmed city council elections in 2023)
Oxford City Council elects its councillors by halves. This means we have elections every other year. We last held ours in May 2022 and the next set is due in May 2024. One of the two seats in each of our 24 wards will be up for election that year.
Therefore there are no programmed elections in Oxford in May 2023.
