Note, if you wish to submit supporting documents, there will be an option to add these to the online form. Please ensure to include your fee quotation reference number when you submit your Building Regulations application form.
What type of application will you need
- Full Plans Building Approval Application
This application involves submitting detailed plans and specifications of your proposed building work, well in advance of the work starting. These plans are thoroughly checked to ensure they meet all building regulations before you start construction. This method helps identify and resolve any issues early, providing peace of mind that your project will comply with regulations from the outset.
- Application for Building Notice
This application is a quicker and simpler way to get approval for smaller projects. You only need to submit a basic notice with essential information about the work. We will inspect the work at various stages to ensure it complies with building regulations. This method is best for straightforward projects where you or your builder are confident about meeting the regulations.
- Application for Regularisation
This application is used when building work has already been completed without prior approval. We will inspect the work to ensure it meets building regulations. If everything is in order, you will receive a certificate confirming that the work complies with the regulations. This is often necessary when selling a property to prove that all work was done legally.
