We are required under the Housing Act 2004 to maintain a register of current selective licences, temporary exemptions from selective licensing and interim management orders. This must include certain information, as listed in The Licensing and Management of Houses in Multiple Occupation and Other Houses (Miscellaneous Provisions) (England) Regulations 2006.
The Regulations only permit publication of licences that are in force and so prohibit publication of pending or expired licences. Under Freedom of Information, pending or expired licences are classed as confidential information and so cannot be provided even if a Freedom of Information request is made. As such, the register only shows issued licences, not all properties where an application has been submitted and is still being processed.
You can use our searchable version of the register below. The data is real-time data. However, licences are not published until they are issued and are removed once expired. To search for a property, enter the address in the search box and separate all lines with commas.
Please email propertylicensing@oxford.gov.uk if you believe a property requires a licence but is not on the register.
