This page explains parking for motorcycles (motorbikes, scooters and mopeds) in Oxford city Council run car parks and where to find information about on-street parking in the city centre.
Motorcycles in council run car parks
Motorbikes, scooters and mopeds can park for free in Oxford City Council run car parks - you don't need a ticket or permit.
Please use designated areas where there is one. You can also park (free) in the standard parking bays and you can share these with other motorbike users but please keep within the marked lines.
We recommend using Oxpens car park which has a large area close to the entrance and another within the site signposted 'MC.
We do not recommend Gloucester Green underground carpark. This is ramp activated and most motorcycles (even with sidecars) won't activate it, risking a ticket. Parking your motorbike here is at the users own risk.
See our Council car park directory for car park information.
On-street motorcycle parking
Oxfordshire County Council is responsible for all on-street parking and civil parking enforcement in Oxfordshire.
There's free designated city centre parking spaces for motorbikes, scooters and mopeds at St Ebbes and St Giles. See our Oxford parking locations map for the locations.
Find more information about on-street parking and enforcement, see Motorcycle parking (at Oxfordshire County Council)
