Rose Hill residents will be able to get their first look at a proposed housing development on the current community centre site next week.
Oxford City Council is building a new £4m community centre in Ashurst Way. The centre includes a gym, health facilities, changing rooms, advice centre, Thames Valley Police office, community rooms, café and kitchen.
It is expected that the new centre will be open early in January 2016, releasing the existing site for much-needed housing development.
The information session will take place in the existing Rose Hill Community Centre, The Oval, between 4pm and 7.30pm on Tuesday (3 November 2015).
It will be an opportunity to see the proposed outline planning permission for the site.
Outline planning permission establishes the principle of development – the kind of development that will be on the site, rather than full details.
It is hoped the application will be submitted in November.
The City Council is now taking bookings for the new Rose Hill Community Centre. Residents can hold community events, meetings, weddings, parties and more in the new building.
