Community groups and organisations in Oxford can now apply for a share of £121,305 to help residents facing the cost of living crisis.
The Crisis and Resilience Fund (CRF) is a three-year funding programme for households experiencing financial hardship. In Oxfordshire, funding is administered by the city and district councils on behalf of Oxfordshire County Council.
About the funding
As part of the Crisis and Resilience Fund, Oxford City Council has launched a new pot of funding for community groups and organisations that are providing cost of living support in Oxford.
The fund will distribute a total of £121,305 over the three-year funding period, with £40,435 available each year. It is available to charities and community groups that are delivering, or planning to deliver, activities that support people in crisis or build community resilience. This could include food support, warm spaces, free activities, and advice services.
The community funding pot has two strands of funding available:
- Up to £2,000 for one year of funding
- Up to £6,000 for three years of funding
The programme has been developed in partnership with Oxford's voluntary and community sector, helping to ensure it meets the needs of local people and strengthens the work of organisations across the city.
The funding is available for organisations that are operating from, or providing a service within the Oxford city boundary.
Applications can be made online, and the deadline to apply is Sunday 27 September.
Tackling the cost of living crisis
Oxford City Council invests millions of pounds each year to support residents and tackle inequality. This includes providing more than 8,000 council homes, championing the Oxford Living Wage, and distributing more than £1 million in grant funding to local community groups and organisations.
In addition, over the past three years, the City Council has received £143,000 from Oxfordshire County Council to support measures to tackle the cost of living crisis.
In 2025-26 this work included:
- £40,000 to advice centres
- £48,000 to provide crisis support to 502 households
- £31,500 to provide support to local community groups
- £8,000 to support eight local food larders
- £8,000 to support Oxford Food Hub
- £5,500 for administration costs
- £2,000 to identify, support, and track low-income households needing support

Support is available across Oxford for residents who are struggling with the cost of living.
Advice can be found on the Council’s Cost of Living webpages, by calling the Council’s customer services team, or visiting your local advice centre. Council tenants can also speak to their housing officer about available support.
