Due to the extreme heat forecast this week, Oxford City Council and ODS are introducing temporary changes to waste collections to protect the health and wellbeing of our crews.
We apologise for any disruption these temporary arrangements may cause and thank residents for their understanding and patience.
Revised arrangements
Collection crews will begin work earlier than usual, with bin collections starting from 5am. Residents are asked to put their bins out the evening before their scheduled collection day.
Comment
"The safety and wellbeing of our crews is a top priority, particularly during periods of extreme heat. These temporary changes help ensure staff can continue to deliver essential services while keeping safe and well and minimising disruption to residents.
“We appreciate the cooperation and understanding of the community and encourage everyone to support our crews by putting bins out the night before their collection day."
Councillor Nigel Chapman, Cabinet Member for Citizen Focused Services and Council Companies
Residents are encouraged to help share this information across their communities and online networks to ensure as many people as possible are aware of the temporary changes.
