Your polling station may not be the same for every election, so it is important to check where you need to go before polling day.
If you are voting in person, you can only vote at the polling station allocated to you. This will usually be a public building, such as a school, community centre, church hall or local council building.
All polling cards have now been sent out to registered voters. Your polling card will tell you the date of the election, your ward, and the address of your allocated polling station. You can only vote at the polling station shown on your poll card.
If you lose your poll card, you can still vote; you do not need to bring it with you. And you can confirm which is your polling station on Oxford City Council’s Find My Polling Station webpage.
Polling stations are open from 7am to 10pm on polling day, 7 May. When you arrive, give your name and address to the polling station staff. You will also need to an accepted form of photo ID before you can be issued with a ballot paper.
Your ballot paper will list the candidates and political parties. Follow the instructions displayed in the polling booth and printed at the top of the ballot paper when casting your vote.
If you have a disability, support is available to help you vote independently and in secret. The City Council’s Elections Team can provide information about accessibility at your polling station, including wheelchair access, disabled parking, low-level polling booths, and any specialist equipment you may need. Email the Elections Team.
