Recycling and waste changes over Christmas and New Year
There will be a slight change to collection days over the festive period.
Garden waste collections, bulky waste, and bin deliveries are suspended between 23 December and 2 January. Collections will resume as normal from 6 January.

Christmas tree recycling
We will collect your real, bare (free from decorations, lights, and tinsel) Christmas trees on your green/brown bin day between 13 January and 13 February.
If you live in a flat, or want to recycle your real tree sooner, you can take it to one of our Christmas tree collection points. These will open from 26 December.

Artificial trees
If you have an artificial tree that can't be reused or donated, drop it off to a County Council recycling centre. Operating hours vary. Please check the Oxfordshire County Council website for up-to-date information, as they manage these centres.
Garden waste (brown bin/sack) collections, bulky waste, and bin deliveries
Garden waste collections, bulky waste, and bin deliveries are suspended between 23 December and 2 January 2026. There are no collections on Mondays, so collections will resume as normal from 6 January 2025.
Extra recycling collections
Extra recycling, such as wrapping paper and cards (excluding foil), can be placed next to your blue recycling bin in a clear bag. Small electrical items, such as broken fairy lights, will be collected when placed in a clear bag on top of your food bin.
Christmas food waste collection
All leftover Christmas food, including used cooking oil (placed in a sealed plastic bottle inside your food caddy) will be collected in your food caddy.
