Christmas comes to Oxford as festive celebrations kick off on Broad Street and across the city.
This year, Oxford City Council is pleased to welcome a host of enchanting events to bring cheer to residents and visitors alike.
At the heart of the celebrations, the Christmas event on Broad Street, organised by Keston Events Ltd, runs daily from 22 November to 31 December 2025 (closed on Christmas Day).
Building on the success of last year, the street will once again transform into a vibrant Christmas destination, offering:
- live music featuring traditional carols and performances by choirs and musicians
- entertainment from community and local groups
- festive street food
- Alpine Lodge bar, a cosy two-storey bar where visitors can enjoy mulled wine, spiced cider, and other festive favourites
- family-friendly attractions, including a carousel and ferris wheel
- stalls with unique gifts, artisanal crafts, and seasonal treats
In addition to Christmas in Broad Street, two of the city’s favourite markets will be offering special festive experiences:
- Late-night Christmas shopping at The Covered Market: 28 November until 10pm (individual traders’ times will vary)
- Gloucester Green Market Christmas shopping: In addition to normal opening hours, the market will run Monday 22 and Tuesday 23 until 4pm, and until 2pm on Wednesday 24
Christmas across the city
Oxford’s celebrations extend beyond the city centre this year, with an exciting mix of events and entertainment. For more details and event information, visit the Christmas in Oxford webpage or follow the Council on social media.
