The Museum of Oxford will be hosting a drop-in family fun day this weekend (Saturday 25 October) as part of its 50th anniversary celebrations.
'Unlock the Past’ is a day-long free event for local families to come and celebrate the Museum of Oxford’s 50th birthday, featuring a programme of family-friendly activities and workshops.
The drop in event will include characters from Oxford’s centuries-long history - including the legendary St Frideswide and Civil War soldiers.
There will also be an opportunity to get involved in hands-on activities and fun, history-inspired workshops including: Saxon coin striking and pottery, handling real and replica museum objects, a historical dress-up counter, and hearing the sounds of Medieval Oxford played by Ghaetta.
The family fun day event will take place on Saturday 25 October from 10am-4pm. The event is free and is suitable for children of all ages.
