Oxford is gearing up to celebrate World EV Day on 9 September, an annual event that champions the transition to electric mobility and highlights innovations in sustainable transport.

To mark the occasion, EV drivers—whether owners or hirers—can enjoy a variety of special offers across the city, including free charging sessions and discounts on car club memberships. Drivers can find their local charging point on ZapMap.

What’s on Offer?

On-Street Charging – EZ Charge
EZ Charge will be offering free charging at its Oxford locations for one day only. Users must initiate the charge via the EZ Charge app, but no fees will be applied. Participating locations include:

Car Park Charging – Blink & Fastned

Blink Charging will offer up to 30% off fast and rapid charging at Blackbird Leys Leisure Centre and Headington Car Park.

  • Rapid: 49p/kWh
  • Fast: 40p/kWh

Fastned will provide free charging all day at its Redbridge Park & Ride location. Please note that parking fees still apply.

Car Clubs – Co Wheels
New members joining Co Wheels Car Club with an Oxford postcode before World EV Day can use the promo code WORLDEVDAY2025 to receive:

  • £15 driving credit
  • Free Standard Membership (normally £5/month)
