Electric vehicle owners and hirers across Oxford will once again be able to take advantage of a range of offers this upcoming World EV Day.
World EV Day, takes place on 9 September and is an annual event aiming to highlight the progress in e-mobility and promote the shift to electrified transport.
Drivers across Oxford will be able to take advantage of a range of deals as part of World EV Day – from free charging at Council-owned charging points, to special promotional codes for new car club members. Drivers can find their local charging point on ZapMap.
The range of offers for World EV Day are listed below:
On-street chargers
RAW Charging
RAW Charging, which operates on-street charging bollards across Oxford, will be offering free charging at any of its Oxford locations:
- Stockmore Street
- Lake Street
- Frenchay Road
- Sandfield Road
- Juxon Street
- Stone Street
- Wytham Street
- Bedford Street
- Vicarage Close
- West Street
- Southfield Road
- Kineton Road
Car park chargers
Blink Charging
Blink Charging, which operates electric vehicle charging at Blackbird Leys Leisure Centre and Headington Car Park, will be marking World EV Day with a donation to charities working to eradicate lung disease. The offer will also apply to on-street chargers at Keble Road, Manzil Way, Old Greyfriars Street.
Fastned
Fastned will be offering free charging for the whole day for any electric vehicle at one of their Redbridge Park & Ride charging points. Parking charges at the site will still apply.
Wenea
Wenea, which operates charging points at Redbridge Park and Ride, and Seacourt Park and Ride will be offering free charging for the day in all 22kW charging points. Parking charges at the sites will still apply.
Car clubs
Co Wheels Car Club
Co Wheels Car Club which offers an electric car club across the city, will be offering a special promotional code for new users. for new members who sign up before World EV Day
The promotional code (WORLDEVDAY2024) will provide new members with an Oxford postcode who sign up before World EV Day with £15 free driving credit on sign up, as well as no joining fee (usually £25) and no monthly fee (usually £5 per month) for the full duration of their membership.
Please note, the offer is not valid for members under the age of 25.

Oxfordshire County Council, Oxford City Council, and Cherwell, South Oxfordshire, Vale of White Horse and West Oxfordshire district councils, and Oxford Local Enterprise Partnership (OXLEP) have created the Climate Action Oxfordshire website.
The website contains lots of information about choosing an electric vehicle as well as information about other ways Oxfordshire residents can help to reduce their carbon footprint.
