This page explains parking for motorcycles (motorbikes, scooters and mopeds) in Oxford City Council run car parks, including how to park for free and when a charge applies. It also explains responsibility for on-street parking in the city centre and where to get more information.

Parking motorcycles in council run car parks

Motorbike, scooter and moped parking is allowed in all council-run car parks except the underground car park at Gloucester Green.

Motorcycles can use any standard parking bay but you'll have to pay the parking charge. Some car parks, such as Oxpens car park, have designated bays where you can park your motorbike, scotter or moped for free (you don’t need a ticket or permit).

For more information, including parking tariffs and designated bays for motorcycles, see our Council car park directory.

On-street parking spaces for motorcycles

There are designated city centre parking spaces for motorbikes, scooters and mopeds at St Ebbes and St Giles. For locations see our Oxford parking locations map,

Oxfordshire County Council is responsible for all on-street parking and civil parking enforcement in Oxfordshire. For more information see Motorcycle parking (at Oxfordshire County Council)
