Buskers create a vibrant atmosphere in the City Centre. However, busking can also lead to nuisance being caused. We can take action on noise nuisance in the street.
What action we take
We patrol the city centre at least twice every day (Monday to Saturday) to ensure that buskers act in a responsible manner and do not cause a disturbance or nuisance. In addition, Sunday patrols are carried out during certain busy periods. The patrols will take action to deal with buskers who are not following the rules in the Busking Code of Practice.
We can take legal action to stop the noise and stop or restrict it happening again. This includes seizing musical instruments and amplification equipment.
