Parking permits

When parking on council property, ensure you have a valid permit or risk getting a fine. Read how to apply for a council parking permit.

Avoid your vehicle being a nuisance

To ensure your vehicle doesn't become a nuisance:

  • dispose of any unwanted vehicles safely so that they are not left to become a fire or health hazard - report any abandoned vehicles
  • make sure your vehicle is taxed and parked properly only where you are allowed to park
  • don't rev your engine unnecessarily
  • don't block anyone else's vehicle or park in their space
  • don't repair your vehicle in your garden, parking space, in the street or on the estate where you live
  • make sure your car alarm works properly and that it does not go off accidentally
  • never park a motorbike, scooter or moped in the communal areas

Dropped kerbs and hardstanding

A dropped kerb can not be installed without a hardstand in the garden. You must have our permission to have a hardstanding in the garden of your council home.

If we give you permission, you then need to apply to Oxfordshire County Council. For full details please visit the Dropped kerb pages of the Oxfordshire County Council website.
