Oxford City Council is working closely with retailers to reduce the number of abandoned shopping trolleys in the city. We have the power to fine retailers if we have to collect and store their shopping trolleys.
We have partnered with Trolleywise to manage the retrieval of abandoned store trolleys across the city. Trolleywise will:
- make daily checks in areas like East Oxford and Cowley
- respond to reports from our street cleaning teams
- aim to collect trolleys on the next working day after they are reported
