If major works are carried out to your block or estate, your lease requires you to contribute to the cost.

When you will be charged

You will receive an invoice after the works are completed. This will show your share of the total cost, as set out in your lease.

You will usually have been consulted about the works before they start. Refer to Consulting leaseholders and shared owners about major work for details.

You must pay service charges, including major works bills, within 14 days of receiving an invoice.

If you cannot pay within 14 days

We understand that major works can be expensive. If you do not think you will be able to pay the invoice within 14 days, speak to customer services as soon as possible to discuss your situation.

We will consider your circumstances, including your income, and agree a repayment plan with you.

Interest-free repayment options

We offer interest-free repayment plans to help you spread the cost of a major works bill over:

  • 12 months
  • 24 months
  • 36 months

You will need to pay by monthly or quarterly direct debit.

Independent financial advice

We cannot provide financial advice about how you should meet your service charge payments.

We can explain the repayment options we offer, but any decisions about payment are yours to make.

You may want to get independent financial advice if you are unsure which option is best for you.
