Oxfordshire County Council is the highways authority for Oxfordshire, including the city of Oxford. The county council is responsible for maintaining public roads and paths across the county, including road markings.
New road markings and existing road markings on main roads
Oxfordshire County Council paints all new road markings. It also maintains existing road markings on classified roads (main/trunk roads).
For more information and how to report issues on main roads, visit their webpage Maintaining our roads and highways.
Existing road markings on minor roads
Oxford City Council inspects and repairs existing road markings on unclassified minor roads (such as side streets and estate roads), on behalf of the County Council.
