Further to this morning’s update, conditions have not got any better, particularly on side streets where our waste and recycling crews are now finding unsafe to continue.
We have therefore taken the decision to recall the waste and recycling vehicles and send them to tip so that they are empty and ready for the planned catch-up operations on Monday.
We will be asking all teams to come to work on Monday, which is normally a non-collection day for the domestic service.
We anticipate a return to normal operations by close of business on Monday, 4 February.
