To allow residents more time to engage in the City Council's draft budget consultation for 2019/20, the closing date has been extended until Monday 4 February.
Having your say on the proposals couldn't be simpler. Just visit the budget consultation page on the Council's website. You'll find downloadable details of all the proposed changes. Simply register on the site and you'll be able to respond through using the online questionnaire.
Among other changes, the current proposals would see reductions to charges for civil ceremonies and weddings in the Town Hall, cholesterol testing and the cost of an adult Choice Card for leisure activities, along with the cost of staging some city centre events. Modest increases to charges would see casual swimming, gym use and other leisure activities costing more. Meanwhile, parking charges for our Park & Ride have been frozen, along with charges for 0-2 hour off-street parking.
Councillor Ed Turner, Board Member for Finance and Asset Management, said: "These proposals incorporate many changes to the cost of council-provides services and facilities. These are fully laid out on our website and I want to encourage as many residents as possible to have a look and leave their comments before the consultation closes."
The consultation runs until 4 February 2019.
