Nuclear Free Local Authorities (NFLA) are holding a summer seminar in the Long Room at Oxford Town Hall, OX1 1BX, on 15 June.

The forum, for councils and non-Governmental organisations, will focus on nuclear transports, nuclear transparency and delivering decentralised energy. as well as
looking at how councils can play a major role in delivering low carbon energy. It takes place between 10.30am and 1.30pm.

Cllr John Tanner, Oxford City Councillor for Littlemore ward and the City Council's NFLA representative, said: “I am thrilled that Nuclear Free Local Authorities are meeting in Oxford to discuss nuclear safety and local energy schemes. Lots of people don’t know that nuclear weapons regularly travel up and down the A34."

Cllr Tanner added: "It's also important to remember that green energy, produced locally, can be a lot more economical than large-scale nuclear power."
