Hundreds of jobs and training opportunities will be available at a one-day job fair in Blackbird Leys on Wednesday 11 November 2015.
The job fair will be held in the Glow Hall at the Blackbird Leys Community Centre (Blackbird Leys Road, OX4 6HW) between 10am and 3pm.
It is being organised by award-winning social enterprise and employment charity Aspire Oxford in partnership with Oxford City Council, Jobcentre Plus and Renaissance Coaching.
A similar job fair held at Barton Neighbourhood Centre in July was attended by more than 350 people.
Paul Roberts, Chief Operating Officer at Aspire, said: “We’re very excited about the job fair in Blackbird Leys because it will provide local residents with the opportunity to meet lots of employers and training providers with hundreds of live vacancies in Oxford, find out more about up and coming training courses and jobs in the local area, and get advice about how to prepare for employment.”
Oxford City Council Leader Bob Price said: “This is a great opportunity for local people to secure good quality jobs and training opportunities.
“We’re working closely with partner organisations to improve the economic prospects for the city and our residents, increase the number of affordable homes and create better public spaces for everyone to enjoy.”
The full range of 25 exhibitors is still being confirmed but will include the likes of Greggs, Sainsbury’s and The Co-operative Childcare, as well as a diverse range of large and small employers and training providers who want to recruit more people from the Blackbird Leys area into their workforce and have current live vacancies.
There is no need for jobseekers to book for the event and entry is free. Refreshments will be provided on the day and there will be a supervised children's creche.
