Oxford Christmas Market has been voted Oxfordshire’s Favourite Event at this year’s ‘In Oxford Awards’.
The ‘In Oxford awards’, which are now in their 3rd year, are decided by the general public and readers of Living in Oxford Magazine. Online voting opened Sunday 1 October until Tuesday 31 October.
The awards aim to celebrate Oxfordshire’s ‘most beloved establishments’ and the categories covered included dining, nightlife, shopping, and theatre.
Oxford Christmas Market was established in 2009, and is located on Broad Street. This year the event is running from Thursday 7 December until Sunday 17 December and is hosting a range of exhibitors offering festive gifts and seasonal food and drink. The event is organised by Nicole Rahimi from Oxford and supported by Oxford City Council.
Event organiser, Nicole Rahimi said: “I am over the moon that the Oxford Christmas Market has been voted ‘favourite’ by the public. The award makes all the hard work of the past 8 years worthwhile. It’s wonderful to see how many people look forward to and return to the market each year. It’s become a Christmas tradition in Oxford, which is cherished by many and that’s exactly what I wanted to create.”
Dee Sinclair, Board Member for Culture and Communities said: “It is wonderful to see that the Oxford Christmas Market has been voted the favourite event by the public. We are very proud of Nicole who is supported by our staff. It is a wonderful way to get into the festive spirit”
