Lord Mayor of Oxford’s charity tea dance

Published: Monday, 25th September 2017

Are you up for an afternoon of tea, cake and dancing in aid of the Lord Mayor’s chosen charities? Then gather your friends and sashay on down to Oxford Town Hall on Saturday 14 October. Whether you are the next Fred Astaire or have two left feet, please join us from 1pm to 4pm.

Couples, singles and friends of all ages and abilities will enjoy three hours of live music and dancing in a warm, friendly environment. There will be a mix of ballroom, Latin and popular sequence dancing, accompanied by live music from the ever-talented duo Sugar and Spice. Our experts will be on hand to give you some gentle guidance, and many dances will feature step-by-step walkthroughs.

Dancers will be refuelled by a sumptuous cream tea, courtesy of A&J Catering. You can also try your luck in the raffle for a chance to win some fantastic prizes.

Tickets are £8 in advance or £10 on the door, subject to availability. Advance tickets are available from the Museum of Oxford shop, or by calling 07710 270982.

All proceeds will go to the Lord Mayors chosen charities: Response Giving, Mayday Trust and Wolvercote Young People’s Club.

Everyone is welcome, whether you like to listen to music, enjoy making new friends, or just want to dance and practise your moves. Dress code is smart casual – sequins are optional!
