Oxford City Council has opened its £130,000 grant pot to help provide holiday activities for young people in Oxford.

Organisations and individuals can apply to provide activities during school holiday periods for young people aged eight to 19.

The activities must take place in Barton, Cutteslowe, East Oxford (including Cowley Marsh), Littlemore, Northway, Rose Hill, The Leys and Wood Farm.

To be eligible, applicants must demonstrate excellent safeguarding arrangements and partnership working with organisations such as police, health and local authorities.

The closing date for applications is Sunday 8 January 2017.

The holiday activities grant pot, which is part of the City Council’s Youth Ambition programme to build communities by helping and guiding Oxford’s disadvantaged young people, is now in its 12th year.

Councillor Pat Kennedy, Board Member for Young People, Schools and Skills, said: “I am delighted that we are able to make available £130,000 to support an exciting programme of holiday activities for young people. In previous years these have included football, basketball, quidditch, cookery, arts, crafts and drama."
