The jobs fair will return to Blackbird Leys Community Centre, OX4 6HW, on 10 November, from 10am to 3pm.
It is organised by award-winning social enterprise and employment charity, Aspire Oxford in partnership with Oxford City Council, Jobcentre Plus and Renaissance Coaching.
Paul Roberts, Chief Operating Officer at Aspire said: “We’re very excited to bring the Job Fair back to The Leys. It will provide local residents with the opportunity to meet lots of employers and training providers with hundreds of live vacancies in Oxford, find out more about up and coming training courses and jobs in the area, and get advice on how to prepare for employment – and it’s in a friendly, community location too.”
Cllr Susan Brown, Board Member for Customer and Corporate Services, added: “Whether you’re looking for a first job, a new job or just wanting to see what is out there, job fairs are an excellent way for job seekers to come face-to-face with potential employers in an informal atmosphere to explore what each can offer the other. You don’t have to be unemployed to attend. You might already be working and looking for a different job, a career change, or new training opportunities.
“On 10 November we have a large selection of well-known companies and organisations coming to Blackbird Leys. This will be an opportunity for employers to find ideal employees and jobseekers to take a step towards landing their next job.”
The full range of up to 34 exhibitors is still being confirmed but will include established employers like Westgate developers Land Securities, NHS professionals, the Oxford Bus Company and Four Pillars Hotels, as well as large and small employers and training providers who want to recruit more people from the Oxford area.
There is no need for jobseekers to book for the event; entry is free and refreshments will be provided. The last jobs fair, in Barton, attracted over 350 jobseekers and 30 employers. This event will be followed by another jobs fair in Rose Hill in early 2017.
