Oxford City Council is pleased to be joining other councils across the country to mark Armed Forces Day on 25 June 2016 by hoisting the “Armed Forces Day” flag above our historic Town Hall.
Formerly Veterans’ day, the national event honours the contributions, both past and present of men and women who have served in the British Army.
With many events planned across the UK, this provides an opportunity for communities to demonstrate their support for the armed forces and sustain the morale of Regulars, Reserves, Veterans and Cadets, as well as their families,.
The Lord Mayor of Oxford, Councillor Mohammed Altaf-Khan will be joining Oxfordshire County Council in showing support for the Armed Forces by hosting a Flag Raising ceremony led by the Chairman of Oxfordshire County Council. This will take place on Monday 20 June at 11am at the Oxford Castle, New Road, Oxford.
