Oxford Lord Mayor to hold 'Climate Cafe'

Published: Monday, 16th September 2019

Oxford's Lord Mayor, Cllr Craig Simmons, has expressed his support for Climate Strike planned for 11am to 2pm on Friday 20 September 2019 on Broad Street in Oxford.

The Lord Mayor has made climate change a central theme of his year in office setting up, amongst other initiatives, the Lord Mayor's Climate Fund.

The Lord Mayor, an acknowledged expert in sustainability, will be joined by others to offer a 'Climate Cafe’ on 20 September 2019 for residents and businesses looking for sustainability advice on remaining resilient in the face of climate change.

The Climate Cafe will take place between 2pm and 6pm at the Lord Mayor's Parlour at the Town Hall.

"Many people will be inspired by the Climate Strike. I think it is important to be able to combine this with an offer of practical advice. The Climate Cafe will provide an opportunity for residents and businesses to ask questions of experts as to what they can do to make a difference."
