We may need to install a new central heating system in your home to keep it safe, warm and energy efficient. Installation usually takes around 5 working days to complete.
This page explains what will happen during the work and how you can prepare.
Before work starts
Before work starts, you can help by:
- clearing furniture from areas where new radiators and pipes will be installed
- emptying your airing cupboard to allow access to the hot water cylinder
What to expect during the work
During the installation, we may need to:
- lift floorboards and carpets (floorboards will be re‑secured and carpets placed back down, but not professionally re-fitted)
- turn off your water supply for plumbing work, only for as long as necessary
- switch off your electricity or gas for safety reasons, only for as long as necessary
- make good any screw holes or holes drilled for pipes (but we will not redecorate, box in or paint exposed pipework)
At the end of each day, we will make sure you have essential services, including:
- power and lighting in all rooms
- hot and cold water in your bathroom or kitchen
- a working toilet
