Find out what repairs you are responsible for as a leaseholder and how to report a repair.

Your responsibilities

Under the terms of your lease, you are responsible for certain repairs inside your home, including:

  • electrical issues, including faulty sockets
  • plumbing issues, like a leaking tap or a toilet that will not flush
  • gas appliances and gas-related issues
  • glazing in your windows

When arranging repairs, make sure you use suitably qualified tradespeople. They must have:

  • valid public liability insurance
  • the required qualifications or certifications for their trade, especially for gas and electrical work

Our responsibilities

We are responsible for repairs to:

  • the structure and exterior of the building
  • shared (communal) areas, such as walkways and bin stores
  • shared services, such as communal lighting and door entry systems

We are also responsible for:

  • window frames, catches and locks
  • main stop taps within your property
  • the front entrance door to your flat

If you live at Singletree, we are also responsible for maintaining boilers, hot water and heating systems.

How to report a repair

If you are a leaseholder and need to report a repair in a communal area or on the estate, speak to customer services

When you report a repair, make a note of the repair reference number and its priority.

If the repair is not completed within the expected timeframe, or you are not satisfied with the quality, speak to customer services again and quote the repair reference number so this can be followed up.
