If you are a leaseholder and shared owner and major works are carried out to your block or estate, your lease requires you to contribute to the cost.

When you will be charged

We will send you an invoice after the works are completed. This will show your share of the total cost, as set out in your lease.

You will usually have been consulted about the works before they start. Refer to Consulting leaseholders and shared owners about major work for details.

How to pay

You must pay major works charges within 14 days of receiving your invoice. We offer several ways to pay.

To make a payment, you’ll need:

  • your 10-digit customer account number which starts with 9

If you cannot pay within 14 days

We understand that major works can be expensive. If you do not think you will be able to pay within 14 days, speak to customer services as soon as possible to discuss your situation.

We will consider your circumstances, including your income, and may agree a repayment plan with you.

Interest-free repayment options

We offer interest-free repayment plans to help you spread the cost of a major works bill over:

  • 12 months
  • 24 months
  • 36 months

You will need to pay by Direct Debit on a monthly or quarterly basis.

Independent financial advice

We cannot provide financial advice about how you should meet your service charge payments.

We can explain the repayment options we offer, but any decisions about payment are yours to make.

You may want to get independent financial advice if you are unsure which option is best for you.
