Oxford's residents rightly expect the highest standards of behaviour from their elected city and parish councillors.

The City Council enforces these standards through its Standards Committee and the Monitoring Officer, guided by the Councillor Code of Conduct.

Councillor Code of Conduct

Local authorities are required to adopt a code of conduct that outlines expected behaviour from councillors. Oxford City Council's Councillor Code of Conduct is a part of its Constitution (Section 22).

This Councillor Code of Conduct is also adopted by all four parish councils in Oxford (Blackbird Leys, Littlemore, Old Marston, and Risinghurst and Sandhills Parish Councils).
