The importance of acknowledging Oxford City Council's support

Oxford City Council funds community projects with public money, and it is important that the public are aware of how their money is being spent.

When you accept our funding, you commit to publicly acknowledging our support. This involves displaying our funding logo on all your related information, marketing and publicity materials.

Guidelines for using our logo

You can download the logo in black, blue, or white:

Remember:

  • don’t alter the logo’s proportions
  • avoid enclosing it in a box
  • avoid adding effects (e.g. shading)
  • ensure it’s not cropped in small spaces

Logo colour specifications

The logo should only be used in black, blue or white. No other colour variations are permitted.

Exclusion zones around our logo

Ensure you place an exclusion zone of blank space around the funding logo. Nothing should encroach into this space (e.g. typography, graphic device or photographic detail). This applies to all logo sizes and when featured alongside other logos. Ideally, place the logo in any corner of a layout, and position it at least the distance of the exclusion zone from the edge of the page.

Logo placement on websites

If your organisation has a website, the funding logo must appear on the home page or be somewhere clearly visible (suggested 70 pixels minimum). We also require you to include a link to our website (www.oxford.gov.uk/grants), so people know who we are and how they can apply for our support.

Print advertising requirements

Include our logo in print ads related to the funded project. If space limits legibility, use the phrase: "Supported with funding from Oxford City Council."

Verbal and written acknowledgements

All press releases, interviews, public statements and event speeches should acknowledge our support. Use the phrase: "Supported using funding from Oxford City Council." This acknowledgement should be made throughout the duration of your funding

Acknowledgements in film, sound and broadcast media

Your visual media should acknowledge our support via use of the funding logo.

For sound media, include the verbal acknowledgement: "This production is supported using funding from Oxford City Council."

Brochures and programmes

Place our logo on the front or back cover of brochures and programmes related to the funding. If funding is for a specific part of a larger programme or event, include the logo on relevant pages.

For commissioned organisations, we reserve the right to include a page in your event brochure or programme in order to promote our grant support. The content, timescales and deadlines for this would be discussed and agreed in advance with you.
