If you prefer not to pay your rent online or by Direct Debit, Oxford City Council offers several alternative methods.

Automated phone line

You can use our 24-hour automated phone service to pay your rent using Switch, Delta, Visa, or Mastercard. Just call 01865 249811 and select Option 1. Remember to have your rent account number, which starts with a 9, ready. Please allow up to three working days for the payment to process.

Standing order

Set up a weekly, fortnightly, four-weekly, or monthly standing order through your bank or building society. Use our sort code (20-71-29) and bank account number (30750662), and don’t forget to include your 10-digit rent account number starting with 9. Notify your bank or building society about any rent changes. Download the Standing Order Mandate form.

Post Office

Pay by cash, cheque, or debit card at any UK post office. You'll need your rent payment card or a personalised barcode, available on your quarterly rent statements. It takes about three working days for payments to be processed. If you need a new card or barcode, contact us at 01865 249811.

PayPoint locations

Pay in cash at any PayPoint outlet, found in newsagents, convenience stores, supermarkets, and petrol stations. Bring your rent payment card or personalised barcode. Find your nearest PayPoint at the PayPoint website. For a replacement card or barcode, call us at 01865 249811.

Housing Benefit

If you're eligible for Housing Benefit, you can have it paid directly to us. Visit our Customer Service Centre for an application. Remember, if your Housing Benefit doesn't cover your full rent and service charge, you'll need to pay the difference using another method.
