Summertown and St. Margaret's Neighbourhood Plan - Referendum
In accordance with Regulation 16 of the Neighbourhood Planning Regulations 2012 the Summertown and St. Margaret’s Neighbourhood Forum have submitted their Neighbourhood Development Plan to Oxford City Council, as the Local Planning Authority, to ‘publicise their Plan Proposal.’ The City Council have sought representations on the ‘Plan Proposal’ prepared by the Forum during a public consultation period running for 6 weeks from Wednesday 30 May to 11 July 2018.
The City Council received the Examiner’s Report on the Summertown and St. Margaret’s Neighbourhood Plan in September 2018. A meeting of the City Executive Board was held on 18 December 2018 when the Examiners Report setting out his recommendations to modify the Plan were approved and it was agreed that the Plan, as modified, should now proceed to a Referendum which will take place on 7th March 2019.

The Decision Statement and Examiner’s Report, together with the supporting documents can also viewed in hard copy form at the City Council’s main office at St. Aldate’s Chambers (109-113 St. Aldate’s, Oxford OX1 1DS) between 9.00am and 4.30pm Monday to Fridays; together with Summertown Library, South Parade, Summertown OX2 7 JN (Mon-Fri 9.30am to 17.30, Tues, Thurs 9.30am-19.00, Sat 9.00am to 16.30, Wed closed) and the North Oxford Association Community centre, Diamond Place, Oxford, OX2 7DP (Mon-Fri 9:30 am to 16.00).
An Examiner (Andrew Ashcroft) was appointed to carry out the Examination of the Plan. The Examiner prepared a 'clarification' note, attached below, which raised certain points that he wanted the Forum to clarify before coming to a view on particular policies. The forum has consequently responded to the clarification note, and this document can also be found below.
Summertown and St. Margaret’s Neighbourhood Forum Re-designation Public Consultation
The Summertown and St. Margaret’s Neighbourhood Area and Forum was approved by Oxford City Council on the 22nd January 2014. The Forum as a ‘qualifying body’ lasts for 5 years and ceased on 22nd January 2019. A public consultation for the re-designation of the Forum and its Area is now subject to an application which will now take place for the statutory 6 week period from 29th January 2019 to 12th March 2019.
