Funding from your local ward councillor

What this funding is for

Each city councillor has an annual budget of £1,000 to spend in their ward on projects that provide economic, social and environmental benefit to their local community.

Funded projects and events may be run by:

  • Local community and voluntary groups
  • Charities
  • Schools
  • Other community interest organisations

Organisations must be able to demonstrate how the project will benefit a wide and diverse cross-section of the local community.

How to apply

If you have a project in mind which might benefit from a small contribution, please contact your local ward councillor. If you're unsure of which wards cover which areas, you can find ward boundary maps on this page.

Potential funding opportunities are considered at the discretion of individual councillors, and applications are put to Full Council for approval. There is no appeal process.
