After you give notice

Once we receive your notice, we will contact you to confirm the end date and explain what happens next. Your garage licence agreement will usually end on a Sunday.

Before your agreement ends, you must:

  • pay any outstanding garage rent or other charges
  • remove all belongings from the garage
  • leave the garage clean and tidy
  • securely lock the garage and return the keys

See the garage licence conditions for a full list of your responsibilities.

If you leave any belongings behind, you may be charged for the cost of removing and disposing of them.

Returning your keys

You must return your garage keys by midday on the Monday after your agreement ends.

You can return the keys:

  • by recorded delivery to Oxford City Council, Westgate Library, 2nd floor, 228 The Westgate, Queen Street, Oxford OX1 1PE
  • by prior arrangement with a member of our team
