- History
-
Dunstan Park represents the last fragment of ancient grassland and priority fen in the heavily built-up area of Northway. Blessed with a limestone spring and large area of peat, the site plays host to a variety of a rare wetland invertebrates. In recent years, a lot of work has been done to improve the ponds, originally installed in the 1970s, through the implementation of a series of leaky dams designed to hold back water. The large meadow areas are maintained with two annual tractor hay cuts and in the summer there is a brilliant display of wildflowers in the summer.
