Autumn term 2025 dates: Thursdays 4pm to 6pm. 2 October - 18 December 2025
Leys Pool & Leisure Centre, Pegasus Road, Oxford OX4 6JL. Empowered Sisters is free to attend.
This exciting project is designed for girls aged from 11 to 16 who are ready to grow in confidence, build community and express themselves through dance, movement, creativity and powerful sisterhood. We use dance as our tool for empowerment - you'll learn street and social dance styles like Hip Hop, Popping, Locking, Afro, Dancehall, and House. In addition to this, you will participate in Empowerment sessions which include activities and discussions that will encourage you to share your ideas and grow into confident leaders who challenge norms, advocate for change, and inspire others.
To register interest or to book fill in the Empowered Sisters Google form.
The programme aims to provide high-quality, accessible dance opportunities that everyone can take part in. With cost often a barrier for young people to access sport and the arts, this initiative has been made possible thanks to the generous support of Dancin’ Oxford, Oxford City Council, and the Blackbird Leys Youth Hub - ensuring girls can join completely free of charge.
