It's your responsibility to keep Council Tax details up to date when you move house.
We have two online forms which are available 24/7. Using the correct form helps us to get your bill right.
Moving within or out of Oxford
Use our Moving Out form if you already have a Council Tax account and are moving (or already moved) out of an address in the Oxford area.
This includes:
- moving from an Oxford address to another Oxford address
- moving out of Oxford to another council district
You'll need your Council Tax account number (Account reference). Find this at the top-right of your Council Tax bill, it is 9-digits long and starts with a 6.

Moving into Oxford (Register for Council Tax)
Use our Register for Council Tax form if you don't have a Council Tax account for Oxford and:
- you're a new Oxford resident, moving (or already moved) into Oxford from another council district
- you're an existing Oxford resident, now liable for Council Tax
