The owner of Covered Arts, Oxford Covered Market’s resident art and framing store since 2002, has discussed his pride in being able to frame people’s most precious memories.

Proprietor Paul Lee has been picture framing since the age of 19, developing a passion after helping students studying art at a workshop in East Oxford.

He said: “Picture framing is a wonderful, lovely job – something that is very creative. Every day is different; I see such beautiful things that people bring for framing for all sorts of purposes, whether it’s fine art or sentimental, precious memories.”

Alongside countless framing options the shop also offers pictures from local artists.

Paul added: “I feel very privileged being able to help somebody design and house something in their home. I think it’s really important that people don’t look at pictures on their walls and think, wow that’s lovely frame. I think it’s so much more important to look at a picture and think that’s lovely, who framed it?”
