Oxford City Council and Oxford 50+ Network are marking UK Older People’s Day on Monday 1 October from 10am to 3pm with a day of activities at Oxford Town Hall.
The free event will offer dance classes, informative talks by Oxford Hard of Hearing Club and Oxford Playhouse, along with opportunities to find out about groups and organisations to join. Refreshments will be made available throughout the day.
Attendees that wish to book transport can phone 01865767618 and leave a contact number.
Oxford City Council puts on numerous events throughout the year for older people, including health walks, over 50 dance sessions and its popular Silver Joggers group.
Councillor Pat Kennedy, Older People’s Champion for Oxford City Council, said: “I am looking forward to seeing this event returning to Oxford Town Hall. I’d like to see everyone who is interested to head down to this fantastic event on Monday and celebrate the older members of our community. There is a raft of excellent activities planned with something for everyone.”
