Oxford City Council’s, Oxford City Home Improvement Agency (HIA) Team has been shortlisted for two Foundations HIA Awards.
The team has been shortlisted in the ‘Handyperson Service of the Year’ and ‘Home Adaptations Service of the Year’ categories.
The team is dedicated to helping older, disabled and vulnerable people to live safely and independently in their own homes.
The Foundations HIA Awards are an annual celebration of the achievements of the HIA sector, highlighting the most innovative services and inspirational teams.
Councillor Linda Smith, Deputy Leader (Statutory), and Board Member for Leisure and Housing said: "Congratulations to the entire team at our Home Improvement Agency for being shortlisted for these awards. These council staff work hard to improve the day-to-day standard of living for some of the the most vulnerable residents in our city and this recognition for the top quality service they provide is well deserved."
The other agencies that have been shortlisted in these two categories are:
- Handyperson Service of the Year: Manchester Care and Repair, Oxford City HIA, and WE Care and Repair.
- Home Adaptations Service of the Year: Homelife Carlisle, Lancaster HIA, Oxford City HIA, and Westminster HIA.
The HIA team will be attending the awards ceremony which takes place on Wednesday 18 July 2018 at the House of Lords, London and will be hosted by Lord Richard Best.
