Councillor Anna Railton has been announced as the new Cabinet Member for Zero Carbon Oxford and Climate Justice at Oxford City Council.

Councillor Railton replaces Councillor Imogen Thomas, who has stepped down from the role due to personal reasons.

Councillor Railton, who represents Hinksey Park ward, has been a local councillor since 2022. Her new responsibilities as Cabinet Member for Zero Carbon Oxford and Climate Justice will include:

  • Carbon reduction
  • Environmental policies
  • Delivering the Zero Emission Zone to improve Air Quality
  • Delivering Zero Carbon Oxford City Council by 2030
  • Sustainability
  • Low Carbon Oxford
  • Support delivery of the outcomes of the Oxford Citizens Assembly on Climate Change
  • Biodiversity delivery
  • Promotion of clean energy

Councillor Susan Brown, Leader and Cabinet Member for Inclusive Economy and Partnerships will now carry out responsibility for the City Centre Action Plan delivery.

Councillor Thomas will continue to represent Holywell ward.
