Tickets go on sale on Wednesday (1 December) for the Lord Mayor of Oxford’s annual Christmas carol concert.

The concert, which raises money for local charities, will take place in Oxford Town Hall between 2.30pm and 4.30pm on Sunday 19 December.

The programme will feature the usual array of festive Christmas carols. Many of the carols will encourage the audience to join in, with the backing of the Oxfordshire County Youth Orchestra and the Town Hall’s famous Father Willis organ.

Tickets, which cost £3 each, can be purchased:

  • Online via We Got Tickets
  • From the Cards for Good Causes shop, which is located in the Long Room in Oxford Town Hall. The shop is open Monday to Saturday, 10am till 4pm

All proceeds from the concert will be donated to the Lord Mayor’s supported organisations: Oxfordshire Mind, Ark-T and Wood Farm Youth Centre.

Members of the public can also give a donation directly to the Lord Mayor’s supported charities by texting the word LORDMAYOR followed by the amount you wish to donate to 70085 – e.g. ‘LORDMAYOR 10’ to donate £10.

Last year’s Christmas carol concert was cancelled due to the pandemic.

This year we will be asking attendees over the age of 18 will be required to show proof of vaccination status or proof of a negative lateral flow test COVID-19 test to gain entry into the carol concert, so please allow extra time to enter the main hall.  Guests are asked to be seated by 2.15pm.

“The Town Hall is a wonderful place to hold this event. It will be great fun for friends and families to join together and sing their favourite carols along with the orchestra and Father Willis organ.

“I am really looking forward to this year’s carol concert and it will be my great pleasure to welcome guests to the event.

“This is one of the biggest fundraising events of the year.  All proceeds will be donated to the Lord Mayor’s supported organisations for 2020/2022.”
