With the end of the universal credit uplift, furlough and self-employed support schemes, the council and its community partners have put together some resources to enable residents to find help.
Many residents will be affected by the changes and have worries about how they will cope, but the Council, community groups and charities have been working together throughout the pandemic to make sure the right help is available. .
Kinds of help available
Over the pandemic the Council and its partners have built up their services to meet the needs of people caused by lockdowns and loss of income. The council can help with a range of different issues, including co-ordinating council services and support, and linking residents to community services such as:
- Food: community groups provide a range of food support. You can find your local services, including community larders that provide food and other community support.
- Advice Centres - help with claiming benefits, money and debt advice, housing and employment.
- Household bills: help with energy saving and energy costs
